General Interest Meeting (Subject:
Goals for Increased Personal Participation)
6:30pm, Monday, May 7, 2001
Board Room, City Hall, First Floor
In May we will begin an effort to discuss and assess problems and challenges Houston cultural organizations face. We will involve artists, musicians and non-profit organizations in the effort to improve cultural opportunities in Houston. By examining the role of organizations that promote interest in art and culture to serve the community, as well as universities, local government and the media, we hope to find solutions to problems with participation, funding, networking, promotion and facilities for events.

It is in our own goals to translate success we have had utilizing the Internet to a higher level of interpersonal action for our own organization, as well as others. Creating a forum for cultural organizations, and offering media and other services, is in our plan to improve cultural opportunities in Houston.
